Natalie DeSorbo is the RU-Pathway Program Manager in the Rutgers English Language Institute (RELI). She has been teaching at Rutgers, her alma mater, since 2015 and currently holds the title of Teaching Instructor. Natalie has specialized in teaching critical reading and writing courses at Rutgers for students who speak English as an additional language. She redesigned the English for Academic Discourse (EAD) Internship, an internship in which multilingual students become classroom assistants and organize social and educational events for the RELI community. In 2018, she received the Award for Excellence in Teaching for her work as a Part-Time Lecturer. Before teaching at Rutgers, Natalie worked with K-12 multilingual students in New Jersey public schools.  

Natalie holds a M.Ed. in Teaching English as a Second Language from The College of New Jersey and a B.A. in East Asian Languages and Cultures from Rutgers University. Her academic interests include curricular development, lesson planning and delivery, active learning and classroom engagement, student advocacy, comparative linguistics, and East Asian writing systems.
